In order to strengthen arts organizations in Colorado, The Community Resource Center (CRC) has partnered with the Colorado Council on the Arts (CCA) to provide scholarships and travel assistance for Colorado artists and arts administrators to attend existing nonprofit and business management classes. The goal is to help artists and arts organizations achieve financial stability and build sustainable organizational capacity.

A limited number of scholarships will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for arts professionals to take advantage of for high-quality organizational and professional development classes and workshops offered throughout the state of Colorado in 2008.

Scholarship awards will vary in size depending on the cost of the course requested. Most scholarships range in between $50-$100 per individual. For professional development opportunities over 50 miles one way from origination, travel assistance of up to $150 is available. For those traveling over 200 miles one way, lodging reimbursement of up to $100 is also available. Scholarships are limited to only one per person and are awarded on reimbursable terms.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

• Grants will be awarded only to artists and arts organizations seeking to achieve greater financial stability and to build sustainable organizational capacity through professional development opportunities and not for advancing your art form.
  
  
• Arts-related organizations include, but are not limited to: art, music, literature, culture, history and the humanities.
  
  
• Individual scholarships will only be awarded for professional and organizational development courses including, but not limited to, organizational planning and capacity building, audience development and financial management.
  
  
• In order to ensure statewide access to capacity building resources, scholarships will be awarded with geographic and discipline diversity in mind.
  
  
• In order to ensure equal access among different organizations, only one person from each organization will be eligible for a scholarship per quarter.

Scholarship Application Process:
To apply for a scholarship, click on the link below to fill out the CCA Capacity Building Scholarship Application Form. If your request is awarded, you will receive an email confirmation. Do not register for any course until you receive confirmation of your scholarship. We recommend completing the online application form at least two weeks prior to the class date.
